ELSOLVE · Privacy policy Last updated 5 August 2026

The data stays on one machine.

This policy covers the ELSOLVE application, published by ELSOLVE LTD (registered in England and Wales), which reads the owner’s own saved Google Maps lists through Google’s Data Portability API. The application has a single user - the company’s director - and is not offered to anyone else. What follows describes it exactly as it behaves.

What is accessed.

01

Saved collections

Via dataportability.saved.collections: the owner’s saved Google Maps lists, including list names, place names, the web address of each saved item, and any notes, tags or comments the owner attached to them.

02

Starred places

Via dataportability.maps.starred_places: the owner’s starred places, which Google exports separately from the lists above.

03

Nothing else

No email, no contacts, no calendar, no location history, no Google profile beyond what is needed to complete the sign-in. Both scopes are read-only; the application never writes to any Google service.

How it is used and stored.

i

One purpose only. The exported data is loaded into a private store so the owner can search their own saved places. It is not used for advertising, profiling, analytics, resale, or training any model.

ii

Stored locally. The store is a file on a machine the owner controls, readable only by the owner’s account. It is not hosted on this website, and the website has no access to it.

iii

Not shared. The data is never transmitted to any third party, and no third party is given access to it. There are no analytics or tracking services attached to the application.

iv

Credentials are kept separately. The Google access and refresh tokens are stored in a restricted file readable only by the owner’s account, are never written to logs, and are never included in any report the application produces.

Retention, and revoking access.

01

Retention

Each sync refreshes the store in place. A place removed from a Google Maps list is marked as removed rather than deleted, so the owner can see that it went. The whole store can be deleted at any time by deleting the file, which leaves nothing behind.

02

Revoking access

Access can be withdrawn at any time from Google account permissions. The application stops being able to read anything the moment access is revoked, and the stored credentials become useless.

04

Changes to this policy

If what the application does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is one user.

Contact.

Questions about this policy go to the address opposite.

So do requests to see or delete what the application holds. Access can also be withdrawn directly from Google account permissions at any time, without asking us.
